The note was issued by Store Norske. Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani A/S was established in 1915 under the name “Det norske spitsbergensyndikatet”. It then acquired a number of smaller companies: Arctic Coal Company, the coalfields at Green Harbour in Grønfjorden, A/S Kulspids and Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani A/S. On 30 November 1916 the syndicate was converted into a limited liability company. Nominal value: 50 øre, a common denomination The note has only been signed by Johan Anker. The note has not been signed by the company secretary. Perhaps it had been stolen? Johan Anker was chairman of Store Norske 1928-41. The note has one fault: The note has coffee stains on it.
