The note was issued by Store Norske. Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani A/S was established in 1915 under the name “Det norske spitsbergensyndikatet”. It then acquired a number of smaller companies: Arctic Coal Company, the coalfields at Green Harbour in Grønfjorden, A/S Kulspids and Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani A/S. On 30 November 1916 the syndicate was converted into a limited liability company. Nominal value: 50 øre, a common denomination The note has only been signed by Hans Svendsen. Hans Svendsen was company secretary of Store Norske 1928-29, 1933-35 and 1937-39. The note has not been signed by the chairman of the board. Perhaps it had been stolen? The note has one fault: The note has coffee stains on it.
