Sovjet-style Svalbard Coin · #10170
It´s been such a long, long time since … the spring of 1814. Then, for some brief months, Christian Magnus Falsen (September 14th 1782 - January 13th 1830) earned his “eternal” reputation as the Father of the Norwegian Constitution. The constitution lays down the law; it creates and establishes Norwegian sovereignty. Much later, in 1920, the Svalbard Treaty awarded Norway full and absolute sovereignty over the Svalbard archipelago - wherein Mount Falsen lies covered in ice and snow. Christian Magnus Falsen remains the only Norwegian citizen in the modern era who has been portrayed on official notes and coins issued by Noregs Bank - the central bank of Norway. Svalbard Money´s Falsen NFT is something else altogether. A movie, a map, a portrait - a coin in the form of an exclamation mark of sorts.
